This month we have started a new series for Sunday school on the topic of church history. More information will be available on the church history page along with slides of each class and additional reading material.
This was a good debate that got into the decree of God and its effect on predestination, election, and man's will. We pray it edifies you!
Josh spoke on some distinctions of Baptist Covenant Theology, both historically and doctrinally. We pray this may help and edify you!
With spring around the corner we are moving classes on Wednesday nights back to 6:30pm. We meet at the Licking County Family YMCA.
I wanted to share the verses that Josh asked us to note down during the sermon on Sunday. I know I missed some of the verses and I figured I was probably not the only one. So here they are:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight
15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.
18 I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
2 Samuel 7:12-13
12 When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. 6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.
21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
4 I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24 But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,

So the website is up, obviously. I just wanted to give a few notes. Sermons will be available here on the site along with the current information about the church such as location and meeting times. Anything news worthy that you might need to know about will be posted here. I am sure that there will be a lot of changes in the coming months as we get rolling. Also "Thinking 1689" will essentially be a blog coming out of personal time in the word. Hopefully this will help you follow along with where the church is at in it's studies and teaching.
